The Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX) connects CAVITEX in Kawit to SLEX at Mamplasan, cutting across Cavite and Laguna. It is the modern route to Tagaytay via the Silang exits and dramatically shortens Cavite-to-Laguna travel.

The Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX) is one of the newest expressways in the Philippines, connecting CAVITEX at Kawit to SLEX at Mamplasan. It slices diagonal across Cavite and Laguna, turning the old 2-hour Governor's Drive crawl into a 35-minute expressway run.
How CALAX toll collection works
CALAX is a closed system charged per segment between interchanges. The more segments you pass, the higher the fee.
RFID and payment
CALAX uses Easytrip RFID (MPTC network). The expressway is RFID-only at most plazas — load up before you travel.
Popular CALAX routes
- Sta. Rosa-Tagaytay exit — now the smartest route to Tagaytay from Laguna, avoiding the Sta. Rosa public market bottleneck.
- Silang exits — direct access to Tagaytay's northern approaches and Amadeo coffee country.
- Kawit to Mamplasan through-run — Cavite to SLEX/South Laguna without touching Aguinaldo Highway.
Tips for CALAX motorists
- Weekend Tagaytay traffic converges on the Sta. Rosa-Tagaytay exit — the Silang (Aguinaldo) exit is often faster on Sundays.
- New segments continue to open; fees change as the alignment completes. Check the matrix before long trips.
New CALAX segments
Governor's Drive interchange opened on May 5, 2026 (toll-free until June 5, 2026); its TRB-approved fees have not yet been published — we will add them the moment they are official. The Kawit and Open Canal segments connecting to CAVITEX are still under construction, targeted for completion in 2026. Fees above cover the operational Greenfield (Mamplasan) to Silang (Aguinaldo) section.
