The Metro Manila Skyway is an elevated expressway system connecting NLEX in Balintawak all the way to Alabang, passing through the heart of Metro Manila. Skyway Stage 3 lets motorists cross the metro in under 30 minutes, avoiding EDSA traffic entirely.

Why some SKYWAY combinations show no fare
44 of the 66 possible entry-and-exit combinations on SKYWAY have no published fare in our tables.
On SKYWAY that is the tolling structure rather than a gap in our data: the road is charged as connected sections, and a trip crossing between them pays each section in turn. We will not add two published fares together and present the result as though the operator published it as one — so those trips are shown as journeys with the legs itemised.

The Metro Manila Skyway is an elevated expressway system that connects the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) in Balintawak to the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) in Alabang. With the completion of Skyway Stage 3, motorists can now cross Metro Manila end-to-end in under 30 minutes — a trip that takes 2 hours or more on EDSA.
Skyway sections
- Stage 3 (Balintawak–Buendia) — the elevated north-south connector above the metro, with ramps at Quezon Avenue, E. Rodriguez, Quirino/Nagtahan, and Plaza Dilao.
- Stage 1 & 2 (Buendia–Bicutan–Alabang) — the original elevated Skyway over SLEX serving Makati, Bicutan, Sucat, and Alabang.
RFID and payment
The Skyway system uses Autosweep RFID and is effectively cashless. Class 3 heavy trucks are not allowed on most elevated sections — check vehicle restrictions before planning a truck route.

Tips for Skyway motorists
- Motorcycles below 400cc are not allowed on the Skyway.
- Watch the overhead signs — some ramps are exit-only and missing one means a long loop back.
- Keep Autosweep load above ₱300 if you use Stage 3 daily; insufficient-load penalties apply.
Official exits and rate basis
Stage 3 fares (NLEX/Balintawak, Quezon Avenue, E. Rodriguez, Plaza Azul/Nagtahan, Quirino, Plaza Dilao and Buendia) are taken from the Toll Regulatory Board's published Skyway Stage 3 matrix and were confirmed against it on August 10, 2026. Stage 1/2 fares (Magallanes, C-5, Bicutan, Sucat and Alabang) come from the TRB integrated Skyway-SLEX matrix. Pairs the TRB tables do not publish are not shown.
Skyway is tolled as two sections
This is the single thing that confuses people most about Skyway, and it explains every blank in the matrix above.
Skyway Stage 3 is the elevated road running from NLEX / Balintawak south to Buendia, past Quezon Avenue, E. Rodriguez, Nagtahan, Quirino and Plaza Dilao. It is tolled on its own.
Skyway Stages 1 and 2 run from Buendia south to Alabang, past Magallanes, C-5, Bicutan and Sucat. That stretch is tolled on its own too.
Buendia is the hinge. Travel within either section and there is one published fare. Travel through Buendia from one section into the other and there is no single published through-fare — you pay both sections.
What that means in pesos
Balintawak all the way to Alabang is the clearest example:
- Balintawak to Buendia on Stage 3 — ₱264
- Buendia to Alabang on Stages 1 and 2 — ₱164
- Total for the through trip — ₱428, Class 1
We show that as two legs rather than one fare, because the operator publishes two fares and not one. The arithmetic is simple; pretending it is a single published rate would not be honest, and it is the kind of shortcut that hides a rate change when only one section moves.
So is the matrix incomplete?
No. Every fare Skyway publishes is in it. The blanks are combinations the operator does not price as one journey — and the ones people actually drive are worked out for you on their own pages, linked above the matrix.
If you are continuing past Alabang onto SLEX, or heading for Tagaytay, Calamba, Lipa or Batangas, the trip pages carry the whole route with every expressway added up, and the trip planner will build any combination you like.

Are trucks allowed on the Skyway?
Class 3 heavy trucks are restricted on most elevated Skyway sections. Check SOMCO advisories before routing trucks through Stage 3.
How long does it take to cross Metro Manila via Skyway Stage 3?
Around 20–30 minutes from Balintawak (NLEX) to Buendia in normal conditions — versus 1.5 to 2 hours on EDSA.
