The Metro Manila Skyway is an elevated expressway system connecting NLEX in Balintawak all the way to Alabang, passing through the heart of Metro Manila. Skyway Stage 3 lets motorists cross the metro in under 30 minutes, avoiding EDSA traffic entirely.

The Metro Manila Skyway is an elevated expressway system that connects the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) in Balintawak to the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) in Alabang. With the completion of Skyway Stage 3, motorists can now cross Metro Manila end-to-end in under 30 minutes — a trip that takes 2 hours or more on EDSA.
Skyway sections
- Stage 3 (Balintawak–Buendia) — the elevated north-south connector above the metro, with ramps at Quezon Avenue, E. Rodriguez, Quirino/Nagtahan, and Plaza Dilao.
- Stage 1 & 2 (Buendia–Bicutan–Alabang) — the original elevated Skyway over SLEX serving Makati, Bicutan, Sucat, and Alabang.
RFID and payment
The Skyway system uses Autosweep RFID and is effectively cashless. Class 3 heavy trucks are not allowed on most elevated sections — check vehicle restrictions before planning a truck route.

Tips for Skyway motorists
- Motorcycles below 400cc are not allowed on the Skyway.
- Watch the overhead signs — some ramps are exit-only and missing one means a long loop back.
- Keep Autosweep load above ₱300 if you use Stage 3 daily; insufficient-load penalties apply.
Official exits and rate basis
Stage 3 fares (NLEX/Balintawak, Quezon Avenue, E. Rodriguez, Plaza Azul/Nagtahan, Quirino, Plaza Dilao and Buendia) are taken from the Toll Regulatory Board's published Skyway Stage 3 matrix and were confirmed against it on August 10, 2026. Stage 1/2 fares (Magallanes, C-5, Bicutan, Sucat and Alabang) come from the TRB integrated Skyway-SLEX matrix. Pairs the TRB tables do not publish are not shown.

Are trucks allowed on the Skyway?
Class 3 heavy trucks are restricted on most elevated Skyway sections. Check SOMCO advisories before routing trucks through Stage 3.
How long does it take to cross Metro Manila via Skyway Stage 3?
Around 20–30 minutes from Balintawak (NLEX) to Buendia in normal conditions — versus 1.5 to 2 hours on EDSA.
