Paolo R. Santiago, Editor of TollCalculator.ph

Paolo R. Santiago is the editor of TollCalculator.ph, an independent reference for Philippine expressway tolls.

What he does here

Every fare on this site is transcribed from the operator's published rate matrix as approved by the Toll Regulatory Board. Paolo does that transcription, records the date each road was last checked, and writes up every rate change in the rate-change log with a link to the TRB or operator document it was checked against. He also writes the guides, which quote fares from the same tables the calculator uses so the two cannot drift apart.

How the guides are written

A guide exists only when drivers keep asking a question the calculator cannot answer. Each one names its sources and the date they were read. Where a source is secondary, or where two sources disagree, the guide says so rather than picking a figure. Where the public record stops, the guide stops too. The full rules are on the editorial policy page.

Independence

Paolo and this site are not affiliated with the Toll Regulatory Board, NLEX Corporation, San Miguel Corporation, Metro Pacific Tollways, Easytrip, Autosweep or any of their subsidiaries, and none of them reviews what is published here. The site is funded by advertising and does not take payments or handle RFID accounts.

Corrections

A fare that is wrong is the most useful thing a reader can report. Send the expressway, your entry and exit, the vehicle class and what you were charged through the contact page or to paolo@tollcalculator.ph. If the published matrix shows the site is wrong, the figure is corrected and the change is logged.
