Easytrip vs Autosweep: Which RFID Do You Need in 2026?

If you drive Philippine expressways, you need an RFID sticker — but there are two competing systems and neither works on the other's tollways. This guide settles it once and for all.

The two networks at a glance

Which one do you need?

• You drive north (Bulacan, Pampanga, Clark, Subic): Easytrip.
• You drive south (Laguna, Batangas, Tagaytay via SLEX): Autosweep.
• You use Skyway Stage 3 or the airport expressway: Autosweep.
• You go to Tagaytay via CALAX or Cavite via CAVITEX: Easytrip.
• Manila to Baguio: both — NLEX/SCTEX are Easytrip, TPLEX is Autosweep.

The honest answer for most Luzon road-trippers: get both. Installation is free, there are no maintenance fees, and an unloaded spare tag costs you nothing until you need it.

Can one sticker work on both networks?

Yes, since 21 October 2025. The Department of Transportation, the Toll Regulatory Board, Metro Pacific Tollways and San Miguel Tollways launched One RFID, All Tollways, and an enrolled tag of either brand is accepted across both networks on the Luzon expressways.

Two caveats decide whether that helps you. Enrolment is not automatic — a tag you have never registered for interoperability still works only on its own network. And the wallets stay separate: enrolling links the tag, not the balance, so you still top up with the issuer whose sticker you carry. Registration itself is free, done online through Autosweep or Easytrip.

Common pitfalls

• Insufficient load at the barrier — both systems flag your plate; repeated offenses carry penalties. Set auto-reload or keep ₱500+ per wallet.
• Sticker on the wrong spot — headlight installation reads more reliably than windshield on some sensors; follow the installer's placement.
• Two accounts, one plate — that's normal and allowed. It's two different companies.
